Prisoner of Pain

Recently the University of Alabama (UAB) Magazine published an article titled Prisoner of Pain: Solving the Mysteries of Fibromyalgia Could Help Patients Break Free.

UAB is a massive complex downtown Birmingham, Alabama and is home to the UAB Hospital. The hospital not only tends to the sick and wounded, but is a teaching and research facility.

I was encouraged to see this type of research going on in my own back door, and doubly thrilled to see my physician mentioned in the article.

Dr. Jarred Younger has established UAB's Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue Lab to study Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Gulf War Syndrome and other painful syndromes. He has also noted some success with low-dose naltrexone (LDN).

For an in depth look  at Dr. Younger's research and the article Prisoner of Pain, you can read it here.

NO, I'm not...

I saw this on one of my Sjogren's Syndrome Support Facebook pages. Sometimes someone takes the words right out of your mouth. It's like they've shadowed you and decided to write about. This is one of those case. Props to the author and the support group for sharing this.
